What are we?

Arthesive is an online art resource platform that helps artists brand/market their artwork, find gigs, career opportunities, funding, and more. We are the adhesive you seek.

Who does this help?

We cater to artists. Whether a beginner, intermediate, or advanced artist who needs a little help with finding additional resources to shape your art career, this site has what you’re looking for. We don’t have the answers for everything, but our platform provides a starting point.

Frustrated?

We know the feeling.

We all can’t keep up the Michelangelo’s, Van Gogh’s, Cattelan’s, and the rest of the artistic world, especially when things currently are a bit crazy. The digital realm can be overwhelming, but it is up to us to keep the momentum going by supporting each other. That’s why we created our Library. Here you will find funding links, contest sites, online shops to get materials, marketing tools, legal sites, and more.

Featured Artist of the Month – creativeflip (Filipe de Carvalho) –

Portuguese creative Filipe de Carvalho, who works visually under the name creativeflip, is a copywriter, illustrator, and designer based in Portugal. A copywriter by trade, he began using illustration as a second language, often building projects around simple constraints: removing facial features, reducing form, and letting colour and silhouette convey the story.

His best-known project, Star Wars Flat Design, began as a self-taught Illustrator exercise by a Star Wars fan who wanted to create the kind of fan art people would like to own. What started as a personal digital experiment quickly grew far beyond its original scale, being shared widely online and featured in editorials in Germany, Brazil, and Vanity Fair.

The project went on to be exhibited in Los Angeles, California (USA) and Lisbon, Portugal; recognised through Uniqlo’s annual design contest, with one design selected by the Creative Director of Star Wars–even reinterpreted by people into Christmas decorations, toys for their children, and personal objects.

creativeflip continues to explore how much can be said with simplification, through flat design portraits, typographic experiments, football posters, functional Lisbon sardines, and photographic series built around simple visual ideas.
